OUR STORY / MISSION & VALUES

Our Story

We grew up in Clear Lake, Texas. I come from a family of 7, with 4 siblings. 3 brothers and 1 sister.

My earliest memories of my introduction to making was when I was about 5 years old. I remember my taking turns with my brother and dad playing Super C for the NES. Of course I was to young to memorize the 10 lives cheat code so my older brother would have to enter it in for me if he was wanted to take extra time playing with my dad he would not give me the code so I had to try hard to stay alive. Until I just learned I could just steal my dad’s stock of lives. My mom would hop in and play but she would end up stealing our lives. Haha! Super Mario Bros | Duck Hunt was our main go to when our parents were not playing with us. We had a hand full of classic games we would play throughout the years. (Kung Fu, Megaman 2,3, & 6, Super Mario Bros 3, Karate Champ, Kid Icarus, Baseball and Hockey to name a few.)

My cousins had SEGA and Super Nintendo (and games I remember playing: Sonic 1 & 2, Lion King, Arknoid, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi’s Island, Knight)

Fast forward to 1997 for my 8th year old f birthday my parents surprised us with our next console the Nintendo 64! Talk about an upgrade in graphics! Mario 64 was unreal!! And soo far ahead of its time to this day we reminisce the days of N64 and there is no N64 game like Mario 64 with the amount of movements Mario can do with wall jumps, flips, kicks, and dives. We were then homeschooled and my 2 other siblings game along.

My older brother had a rule, he gets to play first, and we could only play up to how far he made it. We would play hours on Mario Party and my cousins would spend the night we would stay up until we passed out.

Donkey Kong 64 is my favorite N64 game of all time because of how closely it related to me and my siblings how I had to rescue them to defeat King K. Rule and the collectibles made it perfect! I can remember like it was yesterday. It was a Sunday after church my brothers and I were in our study room trying to recite some verses to my dad before we could play. Which my mom said she found a new game for us that we could play once we finished. My two other brothers finished and went to the living room. I tried over and over again and could not get past this one verse. My dad walked out while saying you can go play once you have it down. He went out to the backyard. I sat in the room and out of nowhere I heard the most incredible sound I have ever heard coming from the living room. The DK RAP Song!! I have never heard such a beautiful way of putting rhymes and beats together to make a song. I had to find out where this was coming from. I could hear my brothers laughing so I opened the door and was like a wave of music blew through my face my eyes widened as I took my first steps out and down the hall. I turned the corner and saw the TV screen!! It was love at first sight! My dad opened the sliding door from the backyard saw me. I got a spanking but didn’t feel a thing. After that my dad let me join my brothers and the DK RAP was never forgotten!

To be continued.
